Complete Details of my 85.5 SVO

OUTSIDE

 

85.5 Mustang SVO
Capri fenders grafted on with about 5 inches of extra space (each side). 87 Mustang fiberglass hood with a 3" cowl rise/scoop. All windows are Lexan except the front windshield. The car is painted Sikkens Vivid Canary Yellow with a tri-color blue stripe on the bottom.

 

INSIDE Gutted
RCI deluxe circle track padded aluminum drivers seat. RCI 5 point padded racing harness. 6 point roll cage, with pads near driver and passenger. JAZ fiberglass passenger seat. The battery mounted on floor behind passenger seat. 16 gauge (.060") aluminum sheet from tail lights to end of wheel wells were rear seat used tobe.

 

ENGINE 1986 SVO block
Bored 20 over and fitted with TRW forged aluminum pistons, total seal gapless rings, tri-metal bearings, ARP rod bolts on stock polished and balanced crank and rods, and the block is O-ringed. Major head work (see photo) FMS roller cam, big esslinger roller valves, and double springs. The entire head has been ported/polished/handblended/gutted/smoothed and striaghtened, and Esslinger did the current cam setup.

 

INTAKE
SIDE
Lower intake ported and polished and matched to the head. Upper intake is gutted and rotated to face foward with stock throttle body. Porsche 930 Intercooler mounted behind radiator and perpendicular to radiator (parallel to road) with a scoop under the front bumper to catch lots of cold air. Porsche 930 bypass valve.

 

TURBO
SIDE
86 exhaust manifold slightly ported. Turbonetics T-04 with the large compressor (housing number is 20192) I'm not sure but it might be a "Super H-3 Hi-Fi" compressor wheel, not sure what turbine housing size is but it has a lovely heat shield. Cockpit controlled deltagate mark-4 external wastegate. See photo of turbo setup. EGT sensor to keep me honest. I normally run 16 psi of boost but when it counts 19 pounds on pump gas...I plan on running 22-24 psi with race fuel in the very near future.

 

ENGINE
CONTROL
Currently running the Haltech F3 fuel injection computer with 50 pound/hour injectors. The Haltech is a laptop programable speed denisty setup with full data log when run with the laptop. for spark Electromotive HPV1 crank fired ign. currently running 30 deg advance with full boost. this unit is capable of running 10,000 RPM at full power.

LINE
Esslinger aluminum flywheel with steel insert. Centerforce Duel-Friction clutch and pressure plate.
85.5 SVO T-5....(wish I had a world class T-5 with the 2.95 first gear).
FMS aluminum drive shaft and 7" rear end with 3.73 gears.
