Mt Evans (14,264’)  - September 30, 2010 (click pictures to enlarge)

Chris Wossilek and I climbed Mt Evans on a beautiful Thursday morning.

We chose a non-standard route leaving from the Mt Bierstadt parking lot, west of the mountain. In the distance is the gully we were headed to hike.

The frozen water and muck made the trek in the willows pretty easy.

The python is unleashed.

A look at the gully, the bottom is 12,000', the top is 13,500', 1 mile 1,500' vertical.

Mt. Bierstadt's north face.

The start of the gully.

Above the gully was a gentle slope up to the saddle between the Sawtooth and Mt Evans.

Looking west Mt Edwards (Gray Peak is hidden behind Edwards) and Torreys peaks.

The biggest dork you have ever seen.
